A Sad Day

So as to not feel sorry for myself, i'm trying to remain upbeat, but do not feel that way at all inside. So today I will start unpacking for Ethiopia and put away Abels things untill someday when we may get the call. I say may because I am just so down in the dumps I can't even find the positive that we will get there someday. the thought start running through your head like will he be 5 y. o. and none of the clothes I bought will fit him. How long can this investigation go? I feel like any criminal investigation in the USA months and months. I no longer feel inside that we will make the court closures . I just feel so depressed and angry at myself that I allowed myself to get so excited and psyched and attached to this little boy and now I feel so hurt and destroyed inside. So with tears in my eyes I am putting away the little baseball caps and army camoflage crocs.

For those Interested

For those who are interested I thought I would mention how to properly pronounce Abel. Funny how its different than you may think. We in America would say long A Abel. As in the Bible story of Cain and Abel. but it is pronounced with a short A as "Ah bell" We were just going to say long A bel but now that we thought about it we like "Ah bell"
Also I don't know if anyone caught the track and field Olympic trials this afternoon but the Womens 3 mile team from Ethiopia kicked major Butt. I found myself cheering from the couch and tears of pride in my eyes when she broke the Worlds Record set last year by an Ethiopian woman by 13 seconds. You should have seen the crowds go wild. It was amazing. The Ethiopian section was jumping up and down and wrapped in Ethiopian flags such pride. i am so proud my son comes from such a rich heritage.

We are waiting to hear word officially but are hopeful that the adoption court poceedings may begin again next week. Our agency has done so well informing us daily through this, if even just a quick note that the heard nothing. That is always very comforting during difficult times. Please keep praying.

Dissapointment

Well everything for ur trip is now cancelled, i'm just waiting to hear from the travel agency to confirm the cancellation of our plane tickets. otherwise the court closures will come and then we won't be bringing Abel home till late Autumn. We pray that there is some mercey and they will aloow the families who have their paperwork approved and done in court to allow us to travel for our children. And we pray for the children and families who will be seperated longer due to these issues.

Not good news

We did not pass through court today as hoped and prayed for, The other families are having the same issues as well. Apparently due to the power outages, one of the important document to be done in Ethiopia was not done so now we wait. Unfortuntly this will put a major curveball in our travel plans. We will not be traveling at the end of June as planned. At this point we do not know when we will travel. A very sad day here indeed.

2 days

OK so 2 days untill court. We should know on Friday mid to late morning if we passed court and officially the parents of Abel. We feel pretty good that we will pass court the first time for 2 reasons. Abel's case is really cut and dry. His abandonment was up in March, and also our agency has never had a case thats not passed court. So I'm going to just have positive feelings and feel confident we will pass the first time. Also there are 2 other families from our agency that have court dates on the same day so this is exciting in itself. we'll have a travel group. Yeah. The other awesome thing is as soon as I get word that we passed I can post some pics of our little man as well. He will be officially my son.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well the arrangements have all been made. We leave on June 27th at 6 am and will be staying at the Hilton in Addis. We got a king suite room which I am jazzed about. We hear the Hilton has a kids playground and a pool and a small shopping outlet so we are psyched for the convienence at least. And we were blessed with a travel voucher to use for the room so it is basically free for us. Thanks Lord for that blessing. We are getting excited. Soon to have Abel in our arms.
